Haycock Happenings - October 2007SHARING THE VISION After much prayer and a lot of hard work on the part of our Board of Directors, I am excited to report on our five year "Master's Plan" that has taken shape. Last winter, ten people locked themselves in our new Health Care Center to hammer out a vision for the camp. We left the retreat with a renewed sense of God's direction and excitement about the future! We learned from Nehemiah that what counts is not "what" is accomplished but rather "how" we accomplish it. Our prayer is that the next five years will honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please consider giving to the Lord's work at Haycock. Tax deductible contributions for the "Master's Plan" can be mailed to: Haycock Camping Ministries 3100 School Rd. Kintnersville, Pa 18930, 610.346.7155 Please be sure to write "Master Plan" on the memo line so funds are accounted for properly.
We praise God for those individuals that serve with us at Haycock by providing contributions to our campership fund. This fund provides for many children to attend camp at a reduced rate or in some circumstances absolutely free depending on the need. In 2007 we had the joy of awarding a total of 32 camperships totaling over $7,480! SUMMER CAMP The summer camping season of 2007 was awesome. The Lord blessed us not only with a large quantity of staff, but also with an amazing quality of guys, too. Each week the staff relayed stories of kids asking spiritual questions and some amazing discussions they were able to have with their campers. Our staff will never know the entire impact they had on their campers this summer and it is a safe bet that their input in the campers' lives is still having an impact well into the future. During the past ten years, no estate planning
device has received more publicity than the living trust. A living trust is a trust
created when one person transfers to another person or corporation a property interest to
be held for the benefit of himself or others. Some of the advantages include a
measure of privacy as to who gets the trust assets, also assets are not subject to probate
administration, which saves executor's and attorney's fees.
Attorney Greg Reed, a long time friend of Haycock, has offered to provide counsel
and assistance with your estate planning. Greg
has 27 years experience and is happy to be able to help in this way. For more information, please contact our office. RECYCLING Don't throw out used toner and inkjet cartridges and cell phones! Haycock is now collecting them for recycling. For your convenience, bring them to camp and drop them off.
