Aviation

This program is for a select group of young men ages 15-17 who would like to receive ground, simulator and primary flight instruction.  Objectives include aircraft nomenclature, principles of flight, meteorology, in-flight navigation, Federal Aviation Regulations, airframes, power plants and air traffic control procedures.

Basic maneuvers to begin with a preflight inspection, aircraft taxiing, takeoff, climbs, descents, straight and level flight, turns, slow flight, recovery from stalls, traffic pattern and landing familiarization will be demonstrated in-flight with each student.

Weather permitting, 20 hours of ground instruction, 2 hours of simulator instruction and 3-5 hours of flight instruction will be afforded to each medically qualified student.

Actual missionary pilot testimonies will be used to encourage and motivate young men to consider serving in the Worldwide Mission Field.

Each Flight Instructor is a Christian man with a commercial pilot's certificate and an instructors rating.  The ground school, flight simulators and airstrip are located at Doylestown Airport.  Aircraft used during the program are FAA inspected and certified and are on loan or rented from Christian aviators for the duration of the week.

Also included are regular camp activities:  swimming, riflery, archery, campfires and Bible time.
